The Housemaid - Book Review

Writer's picture: Vanessa AlcaldeVanessa Alcalde

Housemaid named Millie recently got out of prison after spending 10 years incarcerated, she is desperate to land a job that doesn't require a background check though the chances are very low, she finds herself a job as a housemaid at the Winchesters. Nina Winchester is a housewife that appears to be in desperate need of a housemaid, comes off as nice and elegant with a gigantic house. Little by little Millie realizes she's now a moved-in maid to a chaotic family and is often treated badly by Nina and her weird mood swings. The only one that treats her fairly is Andrew Winchester.

A twisted read! No way to figure out what is going on until the story starts to unfold the deeper it goes into detail. I love how the writing is easy and flows smoothly. This psychological thriller haunted me with every chapter because the characters are so frustrating and annoying that I wanted to scream. I try to put myself in the shoes of the character and I wouldn't be so naive or easily misled, or so I hope. This is the second book that I read by this author and WOW she was made to write thrillers. I was a bit confused at the end because I wasn't able to understand what was going on, so if you've read this, please clarify because I'm lost with the ending.
